Busoga Anthem

Obwakyabazinga bwa Busoga — Cultural pride of the Basoga people

Composed by Arthur Musulube 1990s Language: Lusoga

About the Anthem

The Busoga Anthem was composed by Arthur Musulube, a music lecturer at Busoga University, in the 1990s. Inspired by the fact that the Buganda Kingdom had its own anthem, Musulube crafted this song to foster a sense of pride and unity among the Basoga people. He also composed the Busoga University anthem and the Uganda schools' anthem. Today the anthem is sung at cultural events such as the MTN Busoga Masaza Cup and serves as a symbol of identity for all Basoga.
